Yoga for 3-5 year olds (with a parent or caregiver) ~ Yoga comes to life in these fun and creative classes designed to stimulate a young child’s growing curiosity. Playful yoga poses, animated breathing exercises and imaginative relaxation techniques teach 3 to 5 year olds about their growing bodies. Sprinkled with music, crafts, picture books, and age-appropriate props, we will spark the inner yogini while enhancing language development, motor coordination and play skills.
Yoga for 6-8 year olds ~ Cooperative games, thematic activities and storytelling engage the natural energy and enthusiasm of the 6, 7, and 8 year old child. Classes explore yoga poses, breathing exercises, visual imagery, and relaxation techniques while conveying lessons in self-expression, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness. They say it takes a village to raise a child. This class is intended to create that village to support and nurture growing families, foster a sense of community, and provide a resource for all the everyday questions that arise in rearing a child. Each session will include a social time for parents and caregivers to connect with one another, swap stories and ideas, and trade encouragement. This will be followed by music and movement designed to strengthen tactile and auditory bonds between parent and child. Next, a discussion will be lead on topics such as organics, sleep habits, wellness, allergies, siblings, and more. Finally, the session will wrap up with a question and answer session in which the entire group is encouraged to share their collective wisdom and experience. Afterwards, the loft is available until 12:45 if you wish to stay and have a picnic with new friends.
$20/class, $150/10 class series to be used within the three month season. Drop ins welcome based on availability. Click here to register.
